The Observatory is engaged with research & development and technology transfer in space geodesy and related fields. We are responsible for introducing space geodetic techniques in the Hungarian surveying practice. We maintain and develop the national high-level geodetic network. As one of the core institutions in the Hungarian space activities, we are involved in international research and development projects.

The Observatory operates the service centre of the gnssnet.hu Hungarian Active GNSS Network.
